I have had a lot of experiences buying pants that don't fit exactly right online but these fit perfectly. I am 5 7 to 5' 8 (depends on the day I'm being measured it eems) and roughly 130 pounds, kind of hourglass shaped, and I bought a tall size 8 which gave me just exactly the extra rise from inseam to waist but the legs are not ridiculously long on me, which some tall sizes are. I am very happy with these swim shorts. Bought medium -- for reference I am 5'2 about 125 lbs== 39 hip and they fit perfect. I just wanted something I could wear with a tankini top and I think these will be fine. I have not used them in water yet, so cannot comment on that.

Love these pants. I choose more high waist pants now (ones that come to my belly button) so my shirts cover and if I have to bend I don't give anyone an unexpected surprise. The material is very soft but stays structured.
