I followed the guidelines and took precaution when ordering my size, knowing from the reviews that they run small. I am normally a size 12/L, so I ordered the XL. When I first opened the package, I thought no way is this going to fit, but I got it on and it was very comfortable. I didn't think it did much when I had it on, so I am glad I took before and after pictures. The fit was true to size. I absolutely love this!! I feel so much more confident when I'm wearing it. There is definitely an extra strut to my stride! :) The only issue I've had is that depending what I'm wearing, the lines can be seen above my knees.
